Elders

Tom Russell, Tom was one of the charter members of Central Christian Church serving as deacon. For the last four years he has served as an elder. Tom is married to Karen Sue Russell and between them they have three children and four grandchildren.

Bill Tawney, Bill has been a member of Central Christian Church since it began in 2007. He has served as an elder for the last four years. He served as a deacon prior to his service as elder. He has been married to his wife Bonnie for 52 years. They have two children, Kari and Bill. They have four grand children, Scott, Justin, Alli, and Will. They have two great grandchildren, Jameson and Jackson.

Lawrence Tawney, Lawrence has been a member of Central Christian Church since it started, which was on October 21, 2007. He has also been an Elder since the beginning. As soon as they elected the Elders and others that were looked on by the congregation. He has been married to his wife Edna for 55 years. They have two children, a son Mike and a daughter Lisa. They have four grandchildren, Randi, Andrea, Alex, and Sophie.

Minister

Derek Stump, Derek came to Central Christian Church in 2012, after serving with Person to Person Ministries in Hillsboro, Ohio for 9.5 years. Derek has served in ministries in Gallipolis, Ohio, Pomeroy, Ohio, and two congregations in Hillsboro, Ohio. He has been married to his college sweetheart, Karlita Mills Stump, since 1986. They have two children, who are married, and from those two marriages they have four grandchildren.

Office Staff

Noelle Mash, Noelle has been attending Central Christian Church since September 2020. She grew up in Athens, Ohio where she eventually went on to attend Ohio University and became a part of Reach Out on Campus (ROC). ROC is a Campus Ministry and that is where Noelle really began to make her faith her own and take it more seriously as a young Christian woman. She graduated in 2015 and has since helped ROC at OU start a new sister ministry at the University of Rio Grande. When she’s not meeting with Rio Students you can find her in the office here at the church helping with admin things and media.
